Losing my Mind

March 11, 2026

Another early day at 8:50. I got ready for class at 10:30, which was Introduction to English Language Teaching. There were only Koreans and one Japanese student in the class, so I felt very awkward. After class, two of the girls stopped me and we introduced ourselves. Then, I went to the plaza for lunch, where I ran into Ayleen, Bri, and Julia. We ate until Julia, and I needed to go to our Korean Hallyu class at 13:00. After class, which ends at 16:00, everyone wanted to study together, but it ended up only being three of us.

We finished at 18:00 and were invited to join a dinner with “the boys”, so we joined them and their friends at a Korean BBQ place for dinner. It was such an awkward experience, and we hated it because no one talked to us😔. We ended up still being hungry, so Ayleen and I went to Waffle University. We laughed so much that my stomach really hurt at the end🤣. We didn’t want to end the night yet, so we went to Daiso for some things then to the study room in the dorm.

Around 21:00, we were so tired, but it was too early to sleep, so we went on a walk wherever our legs took us. At some point, we saw the bikes that are located around Seoul. I have been wanting to ride them, so we took them around the area. We had so much fun due to the light breeze and lovely scenery. I also taught her how to ride since she hadn’t in a long time. We basically did a whole loop around campus unintentionally🤦‍♀️, so when we ended back at the dorm, we called it for the night.

March 12, 2026

I woke up at 10:50 and did laundry since my clothes were piling up. Around 13:10, I walked to the Hanyang Plaza to eat lunch. I also ended up studying Korean since I didn’t have much to do. At 16:00, I went to the International building to study and chill until I had the Korean language class at 18:10. Once class was done at 20:00, I joined Bri, Pierce, and Jelli for dinner at Mom’s Touch. I like Mom’s Touch because they give you so much for the price, but the only con is that even the mildest chicken is spicy for me. For future reference, I am a very white American who has the worst spice tolerance ever. Once we finished, we went towards the dorms. Instead of staying in the dorms, Ayleen, Bri, and I went to a study cafe until very late. When it was around midnight, we went to our rooms for the night.

March 13, 2026

Last night was the worst night because I woke up twice, which I have never done before. It also didn’t help that I had to wake up early since I had an early class😴😢. I woke up at 9:40 and ran to the laundry room because I forgot to grab it before the room got locked. Then, I left for my Animal Ethics class at 11:00, which is on the other side of campus. I was so happy because the professor let us out at 12:30 instead of 13:00.

Since Ayleen had a class in the same building, we met at the Plaza for lunch. I got bibimbap for a change, which wasn’t my favorite but still good. After lunch, we walked back to the dorms in order to go to Seongsu’s Olive Young in order to get the free skin analysis, but it was too late. Reviews said you need to be there by 10:00 if you want to get a spot!! I was so exhausted from the previous night’s lack of sleep that I went to lie down in my bed for a nap. The nap turned into a scrolling of social media for a short time, then I passed out.

I woke up around 19:00 because Ayleen, Josue, and I were going to meet up for dinner at Burger Show, which is very close to the dorms. The burger and fries that I got were very good and filling. After dinner, we went to a karaoke room until 23:00 to chill for the evening. When we were done, we went back to the dorms. Ayleen and I decided to do a late-night snack run to 7-Eleven before heading to bed.
